Stephannie Kirriwom is a 2014 Archer Leader. Stephannie undertook her final year of law at the University of Papua New Guinea when she participated in the Archer Leadership Program. Since graduating from university, Stephannie has undertaken her post graduate studies at the PNG Legal Training Institute and was successfully admitted to the bar of the National and Supreme Court in February 2016.
In her spare time, Stephannie is extremely passionate about furthering leadership and educational opportunities for all girls and women across PNG. She is currently working with a not-for-profit group to roll out a brilliant program in her local community called the “Pink Nose Policy” which is aimed at raising awareness about issues of gender inequality and empowerment of women in PNG by using surfing as a tool to encourage change and to get the local community on board.
“I have a duty to my sisters, aunties, friends, upon whose courage, passion and support I find my strength and inspiration to further pave not just a road, but a highway. The steps we take today to better our communities are small, but they will resonate in history. I encourage us all, to never stop dreaming.”
